Position Name: Industrial Engineer Location: Normal, IL *Summary Role:* * The Wire Harness Experienced engineer to support the build and troubleshoot the prototype and production build of harnesses for EV Trucks/SUV.
* Must have a background in electrical systems, particularly related to automotive wiring.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to work on the production floor and should be able to address the electrical issues of the vehicle during the build and end of line in case of issues.
* Strong interpersonal skills and be open to engage with shop floor operators and train that on assembly process and procedures pertinent to electrical components and harness routing & fixing strategies.
*Desired candidate profile:* * Should be able to work with Assemblers to support the development/production builds/start of production and provide feedback on any issues to the design, manufacturing, and suppliers.
* Making, updating, repairing prototype wire harnesses on need basis for new vehicles in early-stage development and going into production * Previous experience with automotive wire harnesses connectors, contact terminals, ground terminals, cables, clips, and taping is required.
* Able to use multi-meters, soldering iron, wire crimping tools, hand tools for extracting pins from connectors etc.
as and when required.
* Preferred to have understanding knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance / troubleshooting a full vehicle and repair of vehicles specific to electric harness.
* Train operators and improve process and methods on the production line specific to harness routing and harness assembly in the vehicle.
* Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills * Self-starter and ability to prioritize workload.
* Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment and follow automotive industry standards & protocols.
* Be able to work in shifts – day and night shifts on a roster.
