Role Summary: Our Manager of Continuous Improvement leads a team that supports the Corporate and Factory Continuous Improvement teams.
This will include coordination execution of day to day actions and long-term efforts related to the Rivian Integrated Operating System.
This role will report to our Sr.
Manager of Continuous Improvement.
Responsibilities: Lead the RIOS Deployment Team to deploy RIOS tools and behaviors to the shop floor by leading a team through hands on implementation and coaching on the factory floor.
Coach front line operations leaders on effective problem solving, shop floor management, driving the business through a culture of metrics, and standardization.
Assist the Development Team in creating and sustaining the RIOS manual for the factory, employing a PDCA cycle to continually enhance and revise the material, taking into account input from the production floor as well as the RIOS Deployment team Perform regular RIOS audits on the shop floor and collaborate with Plant Leadership to provide guidance and coaching opportunities to leaders working on the shop floor.
Provide coaching and continuous improvement opportunities to senior leaders in the plant for opportunities on how to better drive effectiveness of lean tools on the floor.
Lead a team of continuous improvement technicians that perform work throughout the plant supporting fabrication of tool stands, part stands, lift assists, jigs, and protective covers Qualifications: This position requires 7+ years of industry experience in a field related to manufacturing Operations.
Previous experience leading teams Bachelor’s degree required in Technical (Engineering, Math, Science) or related technical field.
Non-degreed candidates with additional direct related operations experience will be consider in lieu of degree requirement.
Experience working in and/or developing production systems in an OEM setting is highly preferred.
Hands-on experience leading projects and processes involving cross functional teams.
Certifications in Project Management Methodology, Lean, and Six-Sigma (Green Belt Minimum) preferred.
