Christie Clinic's Laboratory is seeking a PRN(as needed and non-benefit eligible) Phlebotomist/EKG Tech at the Christie Clinic at Medical Hills in Bloomington.
The hours are between Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm.
Duties include the collection of blood and performance of EKG's, as needed and receptionist duties.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds.
Visual acuity and normal color perception is mandatory.
Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a laboratory setting with frequent exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic.
Requirements may include working irregular hours.
Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients
Identify and label specimens
Clean work area and keep area stocked appropriately
Inventory supplies and place orders
Perform EKG's as needed
Perform pulse oximetry and spirometry as needed
Answer telephones, screen calls, take messages and provide information as needed.
Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
Check in patients, verify and update necessary information in the electronic medical record.
Assist patients with ambulatory difficulties.
Collect samples into Laboratory Information System
Perform related work as required.
