Hap Parker Family Aquatic Center is hiring for a Service Manager for 2024 Summer.
The Service Manager is directly responsible for enhancing the daily experience of members and guests at Hap Family Aquatic Center by providing excellent customer service at the front desk and concession stand.
The Service Manager will represent the Recreation Department and facility to the public.
QUALIFICATIONS Must have current certifications in the following or be able to obtain one thru the Village of Rantoul: Food Handlers Management Certificate, Community First Aid and Training, and CPR At least 18 years of age Ability to multi task Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Excel and Word Previous Supervisor/Manager experience preferred Maintain professional interaction and have the ability to work cooperatively with the public and employees in promoting good public relations and providing safe, efficient aquatics facility REQUIREMENTS Perform all such duties necessary for the effective and efficient functioning of the facility Set a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow Able to make sound judgments in an emergency situation Be professional, alert, courteous, and always tactful, maintaining positive can-do attitude at the aquatic facility Proficient in counting money and making change Must be available during the months of May to September Must be available to work afternoons, evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed Must be willing to working between 20 to 40 hours a week RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Functions of Position - Responsible for serving the public in a friendly and courteous manner The counter person is the first employee that the patrons come into contact with.
It is important that you be knowledgeable of the Aquatic Center operations.
Any questions that you cannot answer yourself refer to the Fitness, Aquatic, and Adult Recreation Director or Pool Manager Training concession and front desk attendants in proper upkeep and procedures Arranging and preparing the concession stand and front desk for opening and closing Ordering all food items and containers Responsible for the upkeep of the machines within the concession stand General maintenance of the concession stand Communicate expectations to staff under his/her supervision Supporting a team atmosphere Communicate needs, ideas, complaints and suggestions with Fitness, Aquatics, and Recreation Director Check all swim passes to ensure validity Insuring that the Front Desk, Concession, and Restrooms are cleaned at all times Responsible that all money is accounted for Set a positive example for staff Do not allow friends or friends of staff members to linger at the counter area Ensure that staff is staying off their electronic device Administer breaks for Concession and Front Gate staff Ensuring front desk counter is never left unattended while Aquatic Center is open Making sure that the only staff that is behind the front desk is Front Gate staff who are on duty, Pool Manager, or Fitness, Aquatic, and Adult Recreation Director Make decision on releasing staff due to low attendance and weather-related issues and reporting that information to the Aquatic Pool Manager Must keep the counter area clean at all times Make sure your staff is abiding by the rules and regulations of the Aquatic Center Wear the appropriate uniform ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This position will stay open until filled.
We will start doing interviews mid to late January 2024 for this position.
