Compensation Range: $58,000 - $65,000 annually
The Facility Manager will be responsible for leading the receiving & distribution operations of a cross-dock type facility, overseeing the receipt, sortation & outbound transportation for the distribution of office products, boxed paper, and other miscellaneous goods.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee transportation, distribution & maintenance operations performance
Lead transportation & warehouse staff to deliver cost efficiency and high levels of service
Setup warehouse layout & ensure efficient space utilization
Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies & procedures
Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
Experience recruiting and contracting 1099 Independent Contractors
Liaise with clients, vendors & independent contractor drivers
Plan work rotations, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results
Recruit, select, orient, coach & motivate employees
Produce reports & statistics regularly
Other duties may be assigned
Requirements
Proven work experience as a warehouse manager
Final Mile transportation experience
Expertise in warehouse management procedures & best practices
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
Strong decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills
BS Degree in logistics, supply chain management or business administration recommended.
Work Environment/Conditions
Work is performed in a warehouse environment with extensive team member and independent contractor contact and frequent interruptions.
The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
