Responsibility of this position is for the planning, direction, and instruction of sports classes for girls and boys, ages ranging from 2 to 13.
Sport classes include basketball, soccer, t-ball, football, volleyball, running, pickleball, tennis, and other mixed activities.
Hours of work are varied depending on the program and the season (Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring).
Hours can include but not limited to weekday mornings, weekday evenings, and Saturday mornings.
Extra hours can include working Special Events.

* Plan and effectively organize class time for maximum practice through a daily lesson plan.
* Develop creative ways to teach a skill including demonstration, activities, and repetition.
* Coordinate with co-workers to keep class moving, fun and involving all participants inactivity.
* Teach with encouragement and positive reinforcement.
* Use assigned space effectively and efficiently.
* Build effective relationships with participants and parents.
* Introduce fundamental skills at the appropriate level to assigned class.
* Communicate a positive learning experience to each participant.
* Coordinate and conduct sports game days.
* Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
* Help to supervise and lead assigned group of children upwards of 12 kids at a time.
* Inspect class area and equipment for safety.
* Organize and take care of equipment and supplies.
* Assist with janitorial duties.
* Handle questions and issues as necessary.
* Must be available and flexible to work various hours during the week and weekend.
*Typical Qualifications*
* Must have a general knowledge of explaining, demonstrating, and teaching basic sports (basketball, soccer, t-ball, football, volleyball, Running, pickleball, tennis, etc.
) skills.
* Creative talent and ability to plan and implement recreation activities for specific programs.
* Ability to motivate and instruct participants in a positive fun environment.
* Ability to accept direction and follow proper policy and procedures.
* Ability to communicate effectively with staff, participants, and patrons, recognizing differences in the variety of age categories desired.
* Must be comfortable communicating and working with people of all ages and occasionally difficult work situations.
* Previous experience working with children.
* Must be dependable, confident, self-motivated, outgoing, energetic, and able to problem solve.
* Must have an ability to plan and evaluate daily goals.
* Must be able to provide own transportation to and from program sites.
* Must be able to keep accurate records & documentations.
* Must attend pre-program training.
