All our employees are vital in supporting this mission, read on to see how you can be part of it too! *Job Description:* As an Operations Supervisor at Connect Transit you will provide supervision of Dispatchers, Customer Service Representatives, Bus Operators, and Microtransit Operators to ensure safe operations and quality customer service to the Bloomington-Normal community.
*Wages: * $50,000 – $60,000 annually, dependent on qualifications.

· Participate in the hiring process for Dispatchers, Bus Operators, Microtransit Operators, and Customer Service Representatives.
· Ensure the duties of Dispatchers, Bus Operators, Microtransit Operators, and Customer Service Representatives are performed in accordance with Connect Transit policies, procedures, and expectations.
· Complete weekly schedules and assign daily activities of Dispatchers and Customer Service Representatives.
· Evaluate daily needs of Dispatch Office and Customer Service Representative area, adjust schedules as needed.
· Monitor and record Dispatcher and Customer Service Representative attendance.
· Review all leave requests by Dispatchers and Customer Service Representatives.
· Participate in the development and administration of department policies and procedures.
· Serve on Connect Transit or Operations committees as needed.
· Perform On the Road observations, including safety practices, company procedures, and customer service expectations.
If needed, determine how to best address adverse situations, including possible counseling, training, or discipline.
· Follow up and verify all Dispatcher reports of customer and/or Operator complaints to ensure compliance with Operations Department standard operating procedure.
· Follow workflow as assigned by Operations Director.
· Oversee and assist with the farebox revenue removal, separation, and counting.
· Issue verbal and written reprimands, recommend disciplinary suspensions or discharges when deemed appropriate.
· Participate in community outreach events and presentations as needed.
· Attend meetings to represent and promote the interests of the transit system as directed.
· Respond to safety-related incidents or accidents, report the cause and corrective action as needed.
· Independently evaluate and determine the training needs for Dispatchers, Bus Operators, Microtransit Operators, and Customer Service Representatives; Work with the Safety & Training Director for additional training that will help develop the employee skill set.
· Fill in for Dispatchers in a back-up capacity to maintain proper service levels as needed.
· Fill in for the Scheduler in a back-up capacity by completing and posting the daily schedules for Bus Operators.
· Other duties as assigned *Job Requirements:* · Minimum three years of experience in dispatching, transit systems, and/or supervisory experience.
· Minimum Associate’s degree (or equivalent education and experience combination).
· Valid Illinois Driver's License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements or the ability to obtain Air Brake and Passenger endorsements within 90 days · Acceptable driving record (No serious traffic or license violations within the last five years).
· Successful completion of a federal background check and pre-employment drug test.
· Excellent attendance.
· Knowledge of theories, principles and practices of effective supervision and management of personnel.
· Ability to learn applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations governing bus operations, and labor and employment laws relating to the collective bargaining process.
· Ability to learn regulations regarding safe practices, company procedures and government regulations regarding safety.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and communication equipment.
· Ability to use two-way radio equipment.
· Ability to learn regulations regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act.
· Ability to learn and utilize transit related software and hardware systems.
· Ability to effectively lead, supervise and develop staff.
· Ability to independently evaluate work performance; motivate personnel; and encourage the modification of behavior and performance when deemed necessary.
· Ability to operate calmly in high stress situations, including dealing with conflict.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other transit system departments, collective bargaining unit members, outside contractors, vendors, and other government agencies.
· Ability to lead a team to meet the objectives and benchmarks of the transit system.
· Ability to learn and understand the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
· Apply laws, policies, and collectively bargained rules to daily operations.
· Ability to conduct research and prepare comprehensive reports.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral.
· Ability to perform job indoors, outdoors, on the road, and in inclement weather conditions.
· Meet the physical strength, agility, and dexterity requirements to perform the work of this position.
