Job no: 518545 Work type: On Campus Location: Normal, Illinois Division Name: Student Affairs Department: Dean of Students Job Summary This position provides administrative support and general office management for Student Conduct and Community Responsibilities (SCCR) and Off-Campus Services (OCS), units of the Dean of Students office housed in the Student Services Building.
This includes supporting an Assistant Dean of Students, three full-time coordinators, multiple graduate assistants, two Academic Senate external committees, and various campus volunteer groups.
In addition, this position supervises multiple student employees who provide additional administrative support to SCCR and OCS.
Additional Information The position supports Student Conduct and Community Responsibilities and Off-Campus Services.
This position also supports two university Academic Senate external committees (University Hearing Panel and University Appeals Board), and university volunteer groups including Conduct Consultants.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate $18.
50 - $19.
15 per hour Required Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent Twenty-four (24) months of work experience comparable to the third level of this series.
This work includes performing a wide variety of office support tasks, which require the use of judgment and initiative and the ability to operate computer systems, using word processing, database, and software packages.
Knowledge of the organization, programs, practices, and procedures of a department/unit is central to the performance of the duties.
Preferred Qualifications Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word with the ability to create reports and tables.
Experience with the use and administration of database management systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks with a variety of constituents and timelines.
Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, dependability, and accuracy.
Work Hours Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Functional Expectations Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation: Effectively communicate on a daily basis.
Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
