We are seeking a dynamic professional with the skills and creativity to share our commitment to excellence and who would enhance the diversity of our staff.
We seek a professional with well-developed therapy skills, interests in carrying a diverse and large clinical caseload, experience and interest in supervision and training of emerging psychologists, and a commitment to contribute to our outreach and prevention initiatives serving the larger campus community.
Additionally, we seek a colleague with strong organizational, team building, leadership and administrative skills.
Under the direction of the Director of Student Counseling Services (SCS) the Associate Director for Training will provide oversight for the training program activities within the department.
Primary administrative duties of this position involve management and coordination of our American Psychological Association accredited doctoral internship program, which selects four interns each year.
The person in this role also serves on the department’s Leadership Team comprised of the Director, Associate Director for Clinical Services, Associate Director for Diversity, Equity & Outreach, as well as our Office Administrator and Leadership Team Member-at-Large.
In this role, the Associate Director for Training advocates for the needs of the training program including the doctoral internship, externship program, MSW internship, and professional training and development of staff, while assisting with long range visioning and human resource allocation to meet the missions of the center related to clinical services, prevention and training.
Additional position responsibilities include triage, brief individual, couples and group counseling psychological assessment, daytime and after-hours crisis intervention and management, consultation and liaison work, involvement as a supervisor in our doctoral psychology internship and/or externship training programs, and outreach programming.
We are also looking for an individual with a demonstrated commitment to advancing the vision of an anti-racist counseling center and who has a willingness to work with underserved and underrepresented student populations.
Finally, we seek a colleague who would strive to work collaboratively with their peers, both within the unit and across the campus-one who has strong interpersonal skills and who enjoys building positive working relationships with others.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate $95,000 - 101,000 annual, combined with an excellent benefits package Required Qualifications 1.
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology 2.
Licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Illinois or eligible for transfer of license from another jurisdiction within 6 months of hire date 3.
Experience working on a multidisciplinary team with a commitment to a working as a leader that values a psychologically healthy workplace 4.
Experience with the provision of brief therapy services 5.
Experience communicating clearly and effectively with wide range of constituent groups (students, parents, faculty, staff, administrators, etc.
) 6.
Ability to facilitate difficult conversations Preferred Qualifications 1.
Strong preference will be given to applicants with college/university counseling center experience in centers with APA accredited psychology training programs 2.
Completion of an APA accredited internship in a university counseling center 3.
Prior demonstrated leadership in the coordination and implementation of an APA accredited doctoral internship, preferably in a mid-large university counseling center 4.
Three years of experience in providing clinical services and clinical supervision to psychologists-in-training 5.
Demonstrated ability to form strong partnerships with internal and external entities to aid in the provision of a training program Work Hours Generally Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm with occasional weekend and evening hours as business needs dictate Functional Expectations Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation: 1.
