Job no: 517613 Work type: On Campus Location: Normal, Illinois Title: Assistant Director and Deputy ADA Coordinator Division Name: Presidential Department: Office of Equal Opportunity & Access Campus Location: Normal, IL Job Summary The Assistant Director and Deputy ADA Coordinator will provide guidance, support, and delivery of programming and services for Illinois State University faculty, staff, students, and administrators to support diversity, inclusiveness, equal access, equitable treatment, and a campus climate free from discrimination and harassment.
The Assistant Director will be expected to provide support and guidance in the implementation of ISU policies and procedures related to equal opportunity, affirmative action, harassment prevention and nondiscrimination, and to provide outreach, consultation, and identification of resources to promote greater diversity, equity and inclusion.
The Assistant Director will assist in the creation and implementation of innovative and engaging educational programs relating to diversity, equity, inclusion and civil rights compliance and research, identify, and implement best practices as it relates to diversity, equity and inclusion.
This position will provide consultation and support for students, managers, supervisors, staff, faculty and administrators in all areas relating to OEOA's mission and also assist in the creation and implementation of ISU's annual Affirmative Action programs and plans.

Experience investigating and responding to complaints of alleged harassment and discrimination.

In-depth knowledge of applicable EEO and civil rights laws and regulations.

In-depth knowledge of federal affirmative action regulations and requirements 6.
In-depth knowledge of and experience implementing ADA policies and procedures for employees, including processing and analysis of employee requests for accommodation.

Ability to mediate and use problem-solving skills to conduct alternative dispute resolution.
8.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners.
9.
Excellent written and communication skills.
10.
Competence in using computer software for an office environment, including database management.
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working in higher education Work Hours Office setting.
The core work hours of this position are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
Position occasionally requires work beyond regular office hours.
