Responsibilities
State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, a Fortune 50 company, is offering paralegal opportunities within their Law Department.
The Corporate Law Department is seeking paralegals to join the Litigation unit as well as the Auto Claims Counsel (ACC) unit.
Candidates should possess significant attention to detail with accuracy, critical thinking skills, relationship building and communication skills, organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities and work independently.
These positions are classified hybrid roles, meaning the work arrangement calls for hours in the office and virtually.
Everyone in a hybrid role is required to spend some time in the office.
Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.
Location: 1 State Farm Plaza, Bloomington, IL
The individual selected for the Litigation unit will work with a team to assist in investigation, discovery, and factual research, will communicate and work directly with clients, and may participate in projects.
The individual selected for the ACC unit will be responsible for reviewing appeals, structured settlements, qualified assignment and releases (QARs), protective orders, along with other assignments.
A significant amount of time will be spent conducting 50 state legal research and providing legal opinions.

Qualifications
Prior experience as a paralegal, paralegal degree/certificate/certification, or relevant coursework or legal studies degree is required
1-3 years of relevant litigation experience
Experience and understanding of working in a legal environment
Strong legal research and writing skills
Experience with Westlaw and Lexis Nexus
Technical proficiency with database usage, electronic document management, SharePoint, and
Microsoft Office products
