Job Title:DES Special Education Aide
Job Summary:
We seek a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our Grade School as a Special Education Aide.
As a Special Education Aide, you will work closely with students with special needs, assisting them in their educational and personal development.
Your support will contribute to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with special education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one assistance to students, offering support and guidance in academic and personal tasks.
- Assist students in understanding and completing assignments, projects, and assessments.
- Implement behavioral strategies and interventions as outlined in students' IEPs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting student engagement and participation.
- Monitor and document students' progress, keeping accurate academic and behavioral development records.
- Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in special education practices.
Qualifications:
- Illinois Paraprofessional License
- Experience working with students with special needs in an educational or caregiving setting preferred.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies, including behavioral interventions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support student's academic and personal growth.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility, if necessary.
