*Description*
We seek applicants for a part-time position to facilitate programming in the areas of career exploration and preparation within Project RISE, the College's TRIO Student Support Services program.
Project RISE supports and motivates first-generation, low-income, and/or students with a disability in pursuit of a college degree.
The schedule is anticipated to include 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling Monday - Friday, between 9am and 5pm.
General responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Assist TRIO students with career exploration to identify personal strengths, learn about workforce or internship options, and complete personality and career interest assessments
* Assist students with preparing and submitting employment materials, such as cover letters, resumes, and applications
* Oversee TRIO students’ placement and development in on-campus student employment or internship positions, including ensuring the work experience develops a student’s skills and work habits
* Facilitate workshops for TRIO students on career-readiness topics, such as interviewing, resume and cover letter writing, and other workforce preparation areas
* Maintain records on students’ meetings in compliance with grant reporting practices
*Requirements*
* Bachelor’s degree or appropriate experience/education
* Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community, including demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of the TRIO target population
* Strong organizational skills
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
* Proficiency or familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
*Desired Qualifications*
* Familiarity with Handshake or comparable career inventory platforms
* Background similar to those of students served by TRIO
* Experience working in an educational or professional office environment
