Job Summary
Peer Academic Liaisons have dynamic and important jobs that include tutoring students, welcoming people to the Efaw Center, connecting students with campus resources, and developing program materials for the Efaw Center.
We are a multicultural center that works to create a welcoming and inclusive space for all teacher education students.
We facilitate many different kinds of academic support for teacher education students, supports which we are expanding upon as this new center evolves in tandem with the mission.
As a Peer Academic Liaison, you will receive ongoing professional development and support from the Director and Efaw Center Graduate Assistants.

php Additional Information Responsibilities Include: Tutoring -Provide content tutoring and ILTS exam tutoring in one of the following areas: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Middle Level Education.
Develop Materials -Develop program materials (i.
e.
, content area test preparation online modules, EDIA teaching resources, language translation, update materials, put materials into Canvas).
Campus Liaison & Direct Support Services -Connect students with campus offices and resources (e.
g.
, conduct soft calls to offices/ escort students to campus offices, connect students with program area tutors).
-One-one support (e.
g.
, Content test prep tutoring to undergraduate teacher education students; scholarship preparation support).
Professional Development -Attend online and in person training for the position as relevant.
Event Management -Attend Efaw Center events, check people in, assist with set up and tear down, create feedback forms, and compile results.
Communication & Marketing -Greet students, parents, faculty, staff, and other university guests.
-Answer calls, take detailed messages, and transfer calls as appropriate.
Schedule meetings.
-Create RedBird Life postings.
-Work with COE marketing team to develop marketing materials.
Pay Rate 15/hour Required Qualifications -Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing with A’s and B’s in core education coursework (ECE, Elementary, Middle Level, Special Education, Secondary) -ability to offer services in person and online Proven ability to -arrive to work on time and focus on assigned tasks during work time, collaborate on a team, -communicate effectively and efficiently virtually and in person, -exercise calm and sound judgment in stressful circumstances, -be diplomatic around diverse groups of people, -actively and empathetically listen, -demonstrated multicultural awareness and sensitivities to variation among people of multicultural and multiethnic identities.
-comfort with using/ willingness to learn how to and to use a digital calendar and digital scheduling software, -open to constructive feedback, -interested in participating in promoting educator excellence among teacher education students.
Work Hours Availability to work on campus between 9-7pm M-Th on set days on a set schedule and F 8-4pm.
