*Job Summary:*
As an agricultural truck driver, you will be responsible for operating and driving trucks to transport agricultural products, equipment, and supplies.
Your role involves ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
You'll also be required to maintain and inspect your truck, handle paperwork related to shipments, and communicate effectively with dispatchers, farmers, and other stakeholders.
*Responsibilities:*
* Safely operate and drive trucks to transport agricultural products such as crops, livestock, hay, fertilizers, and equipment.
* Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
* Follow planned routes and schedules to deliver products to designated locations, including farms, processing plants, markets, and warehouses.
* Inspect trucks before and after trips, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and deliveries, completing required paperwork such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and invoices.
* Communicate with dispatchers, farmers, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules, address any concerns, and provide updates on delivery status.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including weight restrictions, hours of service, and vehicle maintenance requirements.
* Handle minor repairs and maintenance tasks on trucks as needed, or report major issues to maintenance personnel.
* Follow safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate protective gear and securing loads properly.
* Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to agricultural transportation.
*Requirements:*
* Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating commercial vehicles.
* Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in agricultural or rural settings.
* Clean driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
* Knowledge of truck maintenance and basic repair procedures.
* Familiarity with agricultural products, handling practices, and safety regulations.
* Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
* Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
* Attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
* Flexibility to work long hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
* High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in truck driving or agriculture is a plus.

Agricultural truck drivers typically work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
They may need to navigate rural roads, farmyards, and tight spaces for loading and unloading.
