ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF DIETARY AIDES: Aide all food functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedures.
Review, prepare & serve meals in accordance with planned menus with standardized recipes & special diet orders.
Prepare & serve residents nutritional bedtime snacks as well as substitute foods for residents who refuse foods served.
Ensure food, etc.
, is prepared in accordance with sanitary regulations.
Ensure the department is maintained in a clean & safe manner by assuring necessary equipment & supplies are maintained.
Ensure the facility’s standards on Infection Control Precautions are followed when performing daily tasks.
Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures assuring that utensils, etc.
, are readily available for next meal.
Prepare & deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
Serve food and drinks in the dining room.
Sweeo and mop floors in the kitchen/dish room.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIETARY AIDES: Some food handling experience Basic awareness/knowledge of sanitation practices as it relates to food preparation Experience in a long-term care facility preferred Compassion and tolerance for older adults Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
