"Picasso In the Park" Art Camp inspires children to reach beyond and create art that is unique to them.
By doing so, kids feel empowered to be creative and expressive.
This one-week art camp takes place Tuesday, May 28th - Friday, June 1st and will involve working with children in grades 2-5 who have a strong interest in learning about different forms of art.
The Art Camp Counselor position will keep campers entertained throughout the day while exploring different forms of art; painting, sculpting, drawing, chalk drawings and a few other art forms.
This position will be responsible for teaching different forms of art at varying levels.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assist with planning daily activities prior to the start of campInteract with children while involved in all activities throughout the camp dayResolve occasional conflicts between campers and appropriately address behavioral issuesAssist site supervisor with keeping accurate incident/injury/behavioral logsEnsure camp site is clean and campers do not litter recreational areas or natureCommunicate effectively with participants, parents/guardians and staff regarding rule infractions, questions and concernsTake daily attendance and assist with sign out proceduresAssist with keeping storage areas clean and organized Perform First Aid or take care of minor injuries as neededSupervise participants on a local field trip
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Availability to work from 7:00am-4:30pm, May 28th - June 1st.
Experience working with youth or background in field of Education, Parks & Recreation or another related field Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods of timeAbility work in a hot, humid environmentPosition sometimes requires the ability to lift, push and pull at least 25lbs.
