*Distinguishing Features of Work:*
Picasso In the Park Art Camp inspires children to reach beyond and create art that is unique to them.
By doing so, kids feel empowered to be creative and expressive.
The Art Camp Counselor position will keep campers entertained throughout the day while exploring different forms of art; painting, sculpting, drawing, chalk drawings and a few other art forms.
This position will be responsible for teaching different forms of art at varying levels.
This _*one-week*_art camp takes place _*Tuesday, May 28th - Friday, June 1st *_and will involve working with children in grades 2-5 who have a strong interest in learning about different forms of art.
*Examples of Work Performed:*
· Assist with planning daily activities prior to the start of camp
· Interact with children while involved in all activities throughout the camp day
· Resolve occasional conflicts between campers and appropriately address behavioral issues
· Assist site supervisor with keeping accurate incident/injury/behavioral logs
· Ensure camp site is clean and campers do not litter recreational areas or nature
· Communicate effectively with participants, parents/guardians and staff regarding rule infractions, questions and concerns
· Take daily attendance and assist with sign out procedures
· Assist with keeping storage areas clean and organized
· Perform First Aid or take care of minor injuries as needed
· Supervise participants on a local field trip
*Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*
· Preferred age is 18 years or older
· Certification in First Aid and/or CPR is preferred
· Successful completion of criminal background check
· Ability to interact well with *children ages 7-11 years old*
· Demonstrate creativity in delivery of art forms, arts & craft activities and group games
· Enjoy working with youth and participating in outdoor activities
· Effective communication skills and the ability to work well with peers/campers’ parents.
· Ability to work independently with little supervision
*Desirable Experience and Training:*
· Availability to work from _*7:00am-4:30pm, Tuesday, May 28th - Friday, June 1st*_
· Experience working with youth or background in field of Education, Parks & Recreation or another related field
*Physical Requirements:*
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time
· Ability work in a hot, humid environment
· Position sometimes requires the ability to lift, push and pull at least 25lbs.
· Preferred personal enjoyment of art

Pay: From $15.
