be/CSVMnKCySsY PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Assists with maintaining, analyzing, and preparing of accounting documents.
Performs accounting procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Assists with division projects, research, audits, analysis and reporting.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts.
Performs specific accounting functions necessary for the development of periodic financial statements and management reporting for the GROWMARK Wholesale Divisions and select GROWMARK consolidated subsidiaries.
Assists in the identification of relevant insights and development of analytical reports and illustrations that support financial decision-making in the product areas supported.
Reconciles general ledger accounts and determines proper handling of financial transactions.
Assists in analysis of financial information, preparation of financial statements, and other reports to summarize current and project future company financial position.
Reviews, investigates, and troubleshoots errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, general ledger, documents, and provides guidance and recommendations for correcting issues.
Assists in monitoring commodity position processes and data to confirm reporting accuracy and policy compliance.
Assists in inventory and related accounting functions for GROWMARK wholesale operations.
Performs monthly inventory related account accruals.
Assists other accounting staff with projects, research, audits, analyses and reporting as requested.
May perform routine research and analysis independently.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Assists with month-end financial statement processes to develop process backup capabilities.
Serves as liaison between accounting and other departments during inventory reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
Assists in the coordination of annual audits by independent auditors for GROWMARK and various subsidiaries.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or the equivalent thereof.
Understanding and experience with accounting-related areas including inventory, payables, receivables, billing systems, overhead, and general ledger systems.
Proven technology skills including spreadsheet, database, and query tools; the ability to use accounting systems to enhance business processes; and the ability to learn accounting-related software.
Proven professional communication, interpersonal, persuasion, and customer service skills.
Proven team-building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have a valid driver’s license and passport with the ability to work extended hours and travel independently overnight.
May be required to work hours beyond what is considered normal business hours.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
