Staff Accountant

Illinois Farm Bureau (IFB), parent company to COUNTRY Financial, is looking for a Staff Accountant.
In this role you’ll have exposure to diverse accounting opportunities in tax, attestation, general accounting, and regulatory reporting.
You’ll work with both internal IFB colleagues and external affiliate organizations to complete assigned duties.
The Staff Accountant is involved at nearly every level - from recording individual transactions to providing financial reports, analysis, and management advice.
Your specific duties may change over time depending on business needs, your skill strengths, and your desire for new opportunity.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule and is based out of our corporate offices in Bloomington, IL.
How does a Staff Accountant make an impact?
Prepares, analyzes and distributes monthly financial statements for IFB and affiliates, ensuring transactions have been correctly posted and the statements accurately reflect respective financial positions.
Assists in the preparation of Board reports.
Researches and investigates financial variances for monthly fluctuation analysis.
Prepares annual budget for IFB and affiliates.
Develops and maintains computer applications to support budget processes.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports, financial forecasts, cash flows and other reports as assigned.
Supports other areas of payroll and accounting as needed.
Assists in the preparation of work papers for annual external audits and tax returns.
Assists with internal audits as needed.
