Job no: 518179 Work type: On Campus Location: Normal, Illinois Division Name: Academic Affairs Department: Educational Administration & Foundations Job Summary The Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support (ICSPS) is seeking a dynamic candidate with strong interpersonal and workflow management skills to join our team serving as the Accountant I.
This position will work with the Director of ICSPS to maintain and develop financial modeling workflows.
ICSPS operates with a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
This essential member of the ICSPS team will be responsible for paying bills, producing vouchers, purchasing, supporting professional development, and navigating Illinois State University processes.
This position supports preparing reports and other documents related to the program requirements of the Center.
This position requires independent work, reporting to the Illinois Center for Specialized Professional Support Director and working closely with and in support of all positions at ICSPS.
A hybrid schedule may be available following a probationary period.
Salary Rate / Pay Rate $18.
25 - $23.
73 per hour Required Qualifications Any one or any combination of the following, totaling three years (36 months) from the categories below: a.
Work experience and/or training in Accounting or a closely related field b.
College course work and/or training in Accounting or a closely related field (including 12 semester hours in accounting) - 30 semester hours equals one year (12 months) - Associate’s degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months) - 90 semester hours equals two years (24 months) - Bachelor’s degree (120 semester hours) equals three years (36 months) Preferred Qualifications Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes at ISU.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently, take initiative, exercise good judgment, and manage what can be, at times, a stressful work environment.
Proven customer service skills and the ability to work with a diverse constituency.
Self-motivated, as work is performed without direct supervision.
Working knowledge of word processing, database creation and management, spreadsheet creation and interpretation, financial analysis programs, calendaring, and email.
Familiarity with Web content management programs.
Proficiency in the use of the Internet as a research tool.
